Genesis 39: 6-10 Joseph’s Boundaries
Dealing with culture-God, what are you calling me to do?
- Culture of Egypt & house.
His communication was for understanding-not agreement.
- “Look” explains, not personal. Not angry.
- Thirst satisfied by God. - Cant do healthy boundaries if thirsty boundary last.

- Identity first. You matter and so do I. - Create space to discuss what you need

- No bond-anger, resentment, bitterness.
- Bond-mutual respect, consideration, protection, safety.
Joseph knew who He was.
- Living to honor God (the boundaries)
*Boundaries tell other people what you will or will not do. They don’t tell other people who to do.
- thats control and manipulation - Sometimes use words

*Bond. Foster relationships
- No bond=resentment.
*How can I live in a house with someone & have boundaries? How can you not?
- overt- never sleeping on couch
- covert-don’t answer phone when counseling, praying
*Always risk involved with enforcing and establishing boundaries
- people walk away
- harm themselves
- ”they might”... (it will never “get better” if things don’t change)-stop enabling
Joseph-David with Saul
Jesus had boundaries
- only did what he saw Father doing - alone to pray
