IDOLS

We can’t fully embrace all his promises & walk in our identity until we FIRST address this issue of IDOLATRY!
Idols= “Cisterns with holes”
First of the 10 commandments— “have no other gods.”
(Exodus 20)
First words God repeated AFTER the 10 commandments were— “have no other gods.”(Exodus 20)
Ex 23:33 “ if you serve other gods, you will be CAUGHT in the TRAP of idolatry.”
—> GODS VERY NAME IS JEALOUS.
“ he is jealous about his relationship with me” (ex 34:17)
👉 idolatry is a TRAP & once we enter in, we’re “caught”
“We become what we worship”
I need deliverance from the very thing I thought would DELIVER me!
Why is that???
BECAUSE= Idolatry is
IDENTITY theft
Idolatry BLOCKS Gods love entering in
Idolatry BLOCKS knowing my true identity
if we preach messages on identity BEFORE exposing & removing our idols— it’s out of order!!!

The Israelites took Gods favor & blessing (the gold He had the Egyptians give to them when they left Egypt)
And when Moses was on mountain too long with God, they became IMPATIENT & took Gods gifts & favor — & melted them into an idol. A false & counterfeit god:(
Sex (a blessing/gift — turned idol)
Friend(blessing/gift-turned idol)
Husband (gift— turned idol)
Career (gift/blessing— turned idol)
Body (gift/blessing- turned idol)
Wine (gift — turned idol)
Food (gift— turned idol)
Money (gift— turned idol)
Kids (gift— turned idol)
unbelief is ROOT that God can’t be what my idols can be!
“Is the lord here with us or not? “ exodus 17:7
(After there was no water to drink & they were “tormented” by thirst.)

(Being in the present of a HOLY God. Not a water down God, a chum God, etc)
Isaiah 6:
Isaiah in front of HOLY God— NOTICE👉he didn’t praise but confessed!
He saw His sin while in front of perfection!
Isaiah had- ‘Filthy lips’
“What you say flows from what’s in your heart ” ~Jesus. (luke 6:45)
“YOUR GUILT IS REMOVED & your sins are forgiven “
GOD= “Whom shall I send?”
ISAIAH = “Here I am,SEND ME!”
GOD= “Yes, go & say my message to the people.”
